Sometimes you are met with the reality that you are stuck in a career…and headed nowhere fast. Here’s what you need to do the moment you realize that you have become tired of your career.

1. Begin by making a conscience effort to separate your disdain for the job (and the people and the policies) from those small tasks in the job that bring you at least a little joy.

2. Don’t let the fact that you are tired of your career get you sidetracked - promise yourself that you will separate the people from the issues.

* To make this a little more doable, pretend to watch yourself from an outsider’s perspective.

* Pretend like you are the star of a new movie…and in that movie you watch how your current career unfolded…scene by scene.

3. Look closely at all of the tasks involved in doing your job. Make sure you observe everything - from the mundane to the exciting.

* Take an assessment for everything you do in your job.

* It doesn’t matter whether it’s a task that you do everyday or one that you do once every two years…place it on the list.

* Perhaps you interact with customers, or you interact with a team…list out all of the various things that you do or have done in your job

4. Now…go down your list and give each job task a score between -3 and 3 based on how much you liked (or disliked) that particular task.

* Use a “-3″ for those tasks that you hated with passion.

* Use a “%2B3″ for those tasks that made you feel like “yeah…THIS is what I was made to do.)

* Use any number in-between -3 and %2B3 to score the rest.

5. Take a look at those task that scored anywhere from -3 to 0.

* Those are the tasks that you can do without in your next career.

* Those are the tasks that are driving you bananas and making you want to tear your hair out.

6. Now take a close look at those tasks that were scored %2B1 and above.

* They will give you an indication of the types of new career move that might fit your more closely.

* These are the tasks that you need to try to match to your new job.

* These are the tasks that you organize your resume around in an effort to attract a new job.

Sometimes when you are tired of your career, you get locked into looking at everything that you don’t like about it.

You find yourself not liking the people, or the policy or even the job task itself…but when it comes down to it, the job that you are in had to have something about it that attracted you in the first place.

Give yourself a little credit.

* Even though you’re tired of your career because it involves a lot of stuff that you DON’T like…there has to be something about it that you DO like.

How To Choose The Right Ship For Your Cruise Vacation

You want to take a cruise vacation, but how do you pick the ship? Youre the cruise planner in the family so first, consider the type of ships. They run the gamut from small yacht like ships to mega-liners holding over 3000 passengers. The small ships normally do not have constant activities throughout the day while the mega-liners schedule loads and loads of things to do. Choose your type of ship by whether or not you want time to yourself or if you want to be entertained. When considering cruise travel keep the following things in mind.

A small ship, 500 or fewer passengers, will have small musical shows in the evening while you will be free to do as you please during the day. This type of ship is for an intimate cruising experience. Being on a small ship is like staying at a beautiful bed and breakfast versus being at a large chain hotel. A smaller ship can also go to less frequented destinations due to its ability to maneuver in tight spots.

A mid size ship, 500 to 1000 passengers, will usually have local groups come on board while in port and perhaps a piano player or a duo. An advantage to a mid size ship is that lines seldom form and when the do they clearer quickly.

Now, your mega-liners will boggle your mind with activities and entertainment. There are ships out there that have skating rinks and rock climbing walls! When you are on these ships, be sure to carry around the pocket size layout of the ship that will be in your cabin on day one. (Get additional ones at the pursers deck). The disadvantage of these ships is that they are crowded and you will have to stand in long lines. One important thing to know is that some of the really large ships cannot fit in some of the docking facilities therefore making it necessary to tender into port. The tender is a life boat that constantly goes from ship to shore. This is important if you are handicapped or afraid of small boats.

Cruise Tip: When in a large port like St. Maarten where it is necessary to tender in to shore and back to the ship, be sure you get on the tender that goes to your ship. There may be as many as 8 ships in port and it would be easy to board the wrong tender after a long day of sun and surf. It could make it quite dicey if it is near the time of departure for your ship.

Ask yourself a couple of questions. Do you want an intimate laid back voyage? Are there any facilities that are important to you like spa packages, healthy exercise, or culinary delights, cultural experiences? These are essential questions when planning cruise travel.

Cruise Tip: The Spa Experience. Use the cruise to take a spa vacation while your kids are entertained and your spouse is learning about new Computer techniques. Yes, you can have a spa experience with all the treatments that you have at a traditional spa and the spa cuisine. All of the top lines have healthy alternatives on their menus and some of the spas are state of the art, many of them managed by land based spas. So not only will everyone be entertained, but you can experience that long awaited week at the spa. I have read many cruise reviews that love the spa experience.

If you have a tendency to be seasick, book a mega-liner, you will reduce the chance of that malady. On the really big girls you hardly know youre moving. (Ships are always referred to as she, her or Lady i.e., the QE2 is known as the grand old Lady of the Seas).

The type of ship should always be considered to get the most enjoyment from your cruise. Rule of thumb is that the larger the ship the more amenities while the smaller ships are more personalized. We took a cruise on a luxury small ship to the Greek Islands and by the second day everyone knew our names and the service was stellar.

One other consideration is the number of ports that you visit. A ship that stops in a port everyday can be tiring, besides its nice to spend a day or two at sea. If you are going back to a port previously traveled, stay on the boat. Its terrific to have the ship all to yourself. These are also good days to visit the gym or schedule a spa treatment, theres hardly anyone using the equipment or the spa personnel.

Common sense tells you that the longer the trip the older the passengers since they have the time and resources to take long voyages. Ships are very different, from the all day partying of Carnival, to the quiet laid back ultra luxury of SeaDream Yachts.

Cruise Tip: Maiden Voyages come with all the bragging rights but you might want to rethink that, especially if you are a first time cruisers. On maiden voyages the crew is unseasoned. They dont necessarily know where everything is or how everything works and this can cause delays in service. Sometimes a cruise line will borrow a staff from another ship to sail the maiden voyage of a new ship and train the staff. Same thing applies, this is a new ship and everybody is learning. Better to let the ship break in for at least six months before choosing her to sail. Construction delays can put a new ship off schedule so dont book a month or two out from the announced Maiden Voyage, since you might then find yourself on the Maiden Voyage. There exists a chance of things going wrong like the plumbing or the electrical.

The same thing applies to a ship that is coming of dry dock or refit. Many things can and do go wrong. Have your travel agent check to see if the ship has just been refurbished and if it has, pick another one.

Probability of Giving Birth to Twins

Giving birth to twins (and sometimes to triplets) is a dream of many women, regardless of the fact that plural pregnancy proceeds more difficult and requires a special vigilance. But all troubles are overcome due to some certain aureole of heroism and a wish to take all pains at one go. Its interesting, that for the last 20 years, statistics of giving birth to twins, triplets and more increased significantly. Deliveries of 0,5 2% of women finish with birth of twins, triplets, more seldom four and five babies.

Do you have a chance? This depends on several factors:

1. Age of a mother.

This is one of the reasons of increasing amount of twins birth a worldwide tendency to late deliveries. A probability of birth of two and more babies increases, if a mother is older than 35 years. (By the way, this chance increases even more after 50 years). Unfortunately, if youre less than 25 years, your chances are half of chances of those who are 35. The matter is that with age, ovulations take place not during each cycle and this is quite normal. And in general, this is not surprising, as during such pregnancy a load on a future mothers organism increases in several times, depending on the quantity of babies shes bearing. Unfortunately, this means that complications are much more often met during such pregnancy.

Quick weight increase since the first days of pregnancy. By the way, this is one of the first sings of two babies presence in a womans uterus. This is absolutely normal: double nutrition plays an important role during the first term of pregnancy. And a quick weight increase is necessary.

High physiological indexes. During the first medical examination doctors will be already able to tell you that your uterus size is little bigger for your assumed term of pregnancy. This tendency will remain for the whole term of pregnancy. Other physiological indexes will be bigger too: circularity of belly through navel, height of uterine fundus standing and others.

Heartbeat of two hearts can be heard. When a doctor begins listening to a babys heartbeat, he will hear beating of two hearts, instead of one. Two separate heartbeats can be heard on the 13th week of pregnancy already, by the 28th week a doctor will be able to determine 3-4 large parts of body (head and bum) and many small ones by touch.

The chiropractors who have used the Utero Constraint Technique say it was successful in allowing the fetus to adjust to a head-first position.

The Mortgage Elimination "Scam"

Youve seen the emails:

“Legally eliminate your mortgage!!”

Can this possibly be true? Well, Ive read the claims and researched the law and heres what I came up with.

The Claim

The claim is that you can legally eliminate your mortgage based on an accounting loophole that goes something like this…

If the lender who funded your loan used borrowed money to fund your loan, then the loan is not valid. And, since the loan is not valid, the security (mortgage or deed of trust) is not valid either. All you do is simply march into court and ask a judge to void your mortgage lien, and you dont have to pay it back.

Now, without going into the legal issues, a common sense approach would tell you that the entire premise of this argument is patently absurd. Think about it… most lenders use borrowed money to fund loans, thats the nature of the business.

So, if these mortgage elimination promoters are correct, then millions of mortgages would be void. The entire economy would collapse. This sounds vaguely familiar to the tax protestor scam where people claimed that they didnt owe income tax because the government did not have the constitutional authority to tax them. More on that later…

The Law

The mortgage elimination promoters cite various court cases in support of their position. At first blush, it would seem there are dozens of court cases in which the judge actually did what they claimed, that is, declare a mortgage void because the lender used borrowed funds for the loan. But, since most laymen are not trained in the law, they take this stuff, hook, line and sinker.

Ive read the decisions and they all have a common theme: they dont support the mortgage elimination theory. In fact, most of the cases are only vaguely on point.

The “tax protestor” promoters did the same thing… take a quote from a judges decision out of context and cite the case as support for their position. In the end, the tax protestors all lost in court, paid large fines and went away with their tails between their legs. The government went after the promoters of the scam.

Similarly, the government is going after the promoters of the mortgage elimination scam. The Federal Reserve recently issued a warning, a copy of which can be found at the end of this article. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency issued a similar warning last year.

The Cult of Stupidity

As I write this, undoubtedly a few “followers” of the theory will email me and argue that I dont understand or that Im part of the “establishment mentality” that keeps the little guy down. Of course, these are likely the same people who are collecting referral fees from the scammers that are charging thousands of dollars to consumers in exchange for a false promise to eliminate their mortgages.

On a philosophical level, I appreciate discussions about how the dollar really isnt backed by gold, the government doesnt have the right to tax Americans and the the like. But I wouldnt tell a client to actually rely on any of these theories in a court of law. Nor would I charge someone thousands of dollars in exchange for a promise or guarantee that their mortgage could be eliminated without paying it off.

How to Really Eliminate Your Mortgage

There are some legal ways to eliminate your mortgage:

  1. Pay it off in full
  2. File for chapter 7 bankruptcy (in which case you will not be liable for the mortgage note, but you will also lose the house)
  3. Find a REAL legal challenge that a judge is willing to accept as a valid reason to declare the debt void, such as usury, gross violation of lending laws, fraud, incompetency or the like.

SUBJECT: Debt Elimination Scams

Board staff has become aware of various illegal schemes being offered to the public that purport to eliminate outstanding debt through the use of specially prepared documents. The organizers of these schemes concoct specious legal documents based on the borrower’s debt, which are then presented to the borrower’s bank, mortgage company, finance company, or other lending institution in an attempt to satisfy the debt. The scams are reminiscent of the tax protesters’ tax evasion schemes seen throughout the 1990s.

The purported legal documents used in the current scams include fake financial instruments that claim to eliminate the borrower’s debt obligation. The instruments usually question the authenticity of financial obligations, and often refer to a specific government agency (such as the Federal Reserve) in an attempt to support their claims. Some of the literature seen by Board staff questions the legitimacy of the Federal Reserve and the validity of United States currency. The literature may selectively cite from passages of government publications, statements by politicians, constitutional provisions, court decisions, various statutes, and private newsletters to support claims and to ultimately conclude that a specific government agency sanctions these debt elimination programs. For example, some of the documents specifically refer to the elimination of debt through the use of a “Federal Reserve approved” procedure.

Debt elimination programs that claim Federal Reserve approval or acquiescence and the satisfaction of legitimate debts through the presentation of suspicious documents are totally bogus. The Federal Reserve does not approve and is in no way involved in any program aimed at eliminating anyone’s debt obligations.

These schemes are proliferating on the Internet, and the organizers are charging borrowers substantial up-front fees and commissions based on the total amount of debt that can be forgiven. Members of the public are being harmed as borrowers generally pay significant amounts of money without eliminating or reducing their overall debt obligations - which of course is not in fact possible through any of these programs. Also, the cessation of legitimate loan payments increases the risk of a foreclosure or other legal action being taken against the borrower, and in addition could negatively affect a borrower’s credit rating. Financial institutions may find that the use of the specious documents complicates the collection process, and may at least temporarily prevent any final action against the consumer.

Examiners and banking organizations should be cognizant of these scams, and the public should avoid becoming involved with them. Bank holding companies and state member banks should modify their policies and procedures as needed to ensure that staff involved in any way in a lending function is able to identify and respond appropriately to these current schemes. If an institution supervised by the Federal Reserve is presented with fraudulent documents as described in this SR letter, the institution is expected to file a Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) in accordance with the Board’s suspicious activity reporting rules. The banking organization must also retain the written materials associated with the purported debt elimination scheme as supporting documentation to the SAR, as required by the Board’s SAR rules.

Reserve Banks are asked to distribute this SR letter to domestic and foreign banking organizations supervised by the Federal Reserve in their districts. Well in reviewing the two descriptions you do find that they have common factors:

Whilst there are many issues that need to be considered when choosing the right investment property, there are three other key issue points of comparison that should be considered and they are:

Key Issue 2: Assess the Nominal ceiling height Be aware of the ceiling heights do they vary. There is no industry standard and they can be from 2.5 to 2.7 meters.
